I want to study optometry at cardiff univiersity, how do you get on a course as a mature student?

I want to study optometry but i do not have the required qualifications, (3 a-levels, 2 which should be science orientated).

I am currently studyin for my biology a-level via distance learning. Not sure if i need all 3 a levels to get on the course as i am a mature student?

Ive been on the website and i am unclear

  1. As a mature student, your best bet is to email them telling them what qualifications you do have, and also what life experiences you have which you feel would make up for your lack of formal education. They should consider your case on its own merits. But be aware that their response may be to tell you to go do the A levels first.

    If you want to start this September, do it FAST. The main date for applications was three days ago, you need them to start considering you before they give all the places to 18 year olds.


  2. As a muture student you don't actual need any qualifications to get into university.  They you as having experince so they don't ask for it.  I got into uni as a muture student and i have no a levels what so ever
