  1. UC Davis

    UC Berkeley

    UCLA

    UC San Diego

    University of Wisconsin at Madison

  2. You need to start by figuring out how much you can afford and where it's likely you can get in. All the California state schools someone above listed are mediocre to food, but at over $40,000 per year for an international student, not the best deal. For a bit more you can go to top private universities.

    The absolute best for science

    MIT

    CalTech

    Stanford

    John's Hopkins

Then there's the 8 ivy league scools, not specific to science but the best colleges

    Harvard

    Yale

    Princeton

    Dartmouth

    Columbia

    Cornell

    Brown

    UPenn

    Top Liberal Arts colleges

    Williams

    Amhest

    Swathmore

  3. University of Wisconsin Madison

The city of Madison is not too big and not too small. It is one of the safest communities in the United States. Most people in the downtown/campus area are friendly and global-minded, and there is a sizable international population on campus.

The university is one of the most respected research universities in the nation, especially for science. I wouldn't doubt it if the name was known around the world. You can't go wrong by studying science here.

  4. Hey!

I'm really excited that you want to come to school in the US, its great here! I just went up and toured Pittsburg University "Pitt", it has amazing science programs, has three neighboring universities (within walking distance) where if Pitt did not offer you a class you were interested in taking you could hop right over to one of the neighboring schools and transfer your credits easily. Pitt is also a very diverse school, so you would have no problem fitting in. Also, if your thinking about staying in the US (which you should!) after you graduate, all students are either hired by a professor to perform experiments or have multiple job offers from local businesses which you would have already been doing a job-op for(working for free as part of the cirriculum). And if youre worried about cost of living, don't, it is super cheap in Pitt and there are so so so many attractions. Safety is also important for international students, but no need to fret, at Pitt there are always two emergency telephones visable, and it takes about one minute flat (it was tested) for the police to arrive and about 2 seconds to talk with someone from emergency services. I was very impressed with Pittsburg, my brother is dying to attend and it he doesnt get in he will be heartbroken.

Pitt is a well respected school, but average grades will definitely get you in the front door no problem, and being a minority will definitely help you out because all colleges, especially Pittsburg are looking to add some fluff to their diversity rate.

Definitely consider this school and good luck to you! Hope things work out!
