I want to supplement my horrible $25k/year graphic designer income with an extra $10k-$15k/year. Any ideas?

Of course I know this means working a second job.

  1. Instead of getting a second job, try starting your own business.  Much more tax advantages.

Unfortunately, you probably wont be able to keep it in the same field due to your contract with your current job, but it will also I've you the change to learn something new.

  2. Sure, the second job, but do a little cost-benefits analysis in your head to see if it's really worth it.  Like you're going to have to buy more gas, maybe lunches on the weekends that you'd normally make at home, etc.  Some people actually lose money working another job simply by upping their taxes due.

  3. Try doing a part time inventory job.  I previously worked for an inventory company and made an extra $1000/ month for about a year.  The hours are very flexible being that most inventory for stores are taken afterhours or early mornings.  And, the best part is it's very easy...all it is take is accurate counting! Good Luck
