Question:

I want to support my parents? Need some help!

I want to help my parents save up money but I think I'm the problem... I always ask my parents if we can dine out... Sometimes they say no or yes. I want them to stop saying yes but I just can't stop myself from agreeing.. I need help!!! How do i help my parents save money yet fix my problem??

  1. I think I know just the thing - ask them to start giving you "eat-out" credit for doing various things around the house. If the only way you can eat out is by earning the right, you're much more likely to appreciate the activity and be more choosy about how often you want to eat out and how much you want to spend.

    It's kind of like asking for an allowance, but on credit. ;-)




  2. why dont you try sitting down with your parents and explaining that you think your family could save alot of money if you all stopped eating out.  All agree to stop....and there you are.

If money problems were truly an issue, then the answer your parents would give you is a simple "no".  And if they can't say no, then offer to pay for some things on your own.  Get a small job, and start saving if you think you'll need money in the future... but for right now, stop asking to dine out.  That would be the easiest solution.
