I want to surprise my bf with a nigh in downtown chicago but i dont know where to get a cheap hotel?

my boyfriend and i have a long distance relationship so seeing each other on the weekends is really important. well, he is taking a day of vacation on friday, august 22 so that he can come spend one extra day with me. i think thats really great. i get off at noon on fridays and i thought it would be cool if we could go downtown for the day but it sucks that we have to take the train back at night. we dont drive cuz driving in downtown chicago is insane and parking sucks. anyway, i wanted to surprise him by getting us a hotel room for the night so that we can hang out and party down there and not have to worry about catching a train back. anyway, i dont want to spend a fortune on just having a place to stay so i need to know where i could get a decently priced hotel room (under $150/night) but is still located in a good spot so that we can walk to a train or whatever. if you could help me out, that would be awesome! thanks!!!

Check out the Ohio Hotel.  I doubt that you will find a hotel under $150 a night this late in the game downtown, however.  I really don't know much about this hotel, but I read somewhere that it is one of the more economical ones.

On the weekend everything is giong to be really expensive. Congress Hotel is a good bang for your buck, right on Michigan Avenue, it's not the W Hotel but is a nice clean hotel and during the week you can get rooms for around $70

There are not many hotels that cheap in Chicago, especially on the weekend.  It may be better to get some place on the outskirts and commute (train/drive) in.  Best of luck and have fun.

During my last trip I came across a website called http://www.cheaphotel-s.com . It has quite a large variety of hotels. You might wanna give it a try.
