I can speak some Spanish, but I'm wondering exactly how it works. My understanding is that you stand on the side of the road, and then you wave your hand as any bus comes by. When that bus gets to the street you want to turn south on, you stand up and walk to the front. Then you get off and take a bus that goes south, repeating the process until you get to your desired location.
Is this right? What is the price? What if I am stuck with only 20 or hundred-peso notes in my pocket? Will I need correct change? In Peru they have two guys in each bus - one drives and the other collects the fare. The fare collecting guy has lots of change. Is it the same in Mexico?
Thanks for your answers...
