A agent for each different company will probably note reasons why his company's products are superior to those of the competitors.

If you have any old phone books (I save mine in the garage), open the oldest phone book you can find.  Turn to insurance.  See if there are listings for CLUs or CPCUs.  (These are advanced designations within the insurance industry.)

Look for an agent with the same last name as yours (or the next in alphabetical order).  This method keeps Adams from fielding all the phone calls.

Call that listed agent.  If he is still in business, you have an experienced agent who is well-credentialed.   Ask that agent.

Note Bene:  This method also works for swimming pool contractors and other practitioners, when you cannot afford a mistake.  Reason:  If a man is out of business, how good is his guarantee?
