I have been riding my bike for a year, and already taken the safety courses (to get your licence and lower insurance), and have looked into going to weekend long racing clinics in the summer at the tracks. It says that they are great for riders even if you aren't planning on racing (which I am not), they teach you proper riding techniques, how to bail on the bike, among many other things. It doesn't say anywhere how many years of experience you should have.

My boyfriend doesn't think it's such a good idea. Apparently it's very safe though, and teaches you things to make you safer on the road. Has anyone taken these courses? I don't see how it wouldn't be beneficial to take a course or two-it will also give me the opportunity to actually ride my bike, without worrying about cops or idiot drivers on the road!

  1. I am all about people taking courses to improve thier riding ability. Taking these courses will not just teach you to be a better rider, but it will provide you with more self confidence in your riding so when a potentially dangerous event happens, you will not panic and crash, rather you will be able to control the situation......

Good Luck to you, and tell your boy friend that he is wrong, and you need to attend one of these classes......
