  1. bad idea.  It is expensive, hard on the animal, and takes several weeks.  Moving animals internationally generally requires quarantine:

  2. So your willing to put your dog on a plane and let it suffer for hours in baggage and most likely end p with a bladder infection when you get to france and then on the way home again? Sounds like a great plan.

  3. why?  This would STRESS your animal out.  It is hotter than hades in the summer and you would have to crate him and he would go in the baggage compartment.  Is it worth it to you to do this to your pet????

  4. As long as his paperwork is in order then it should be fine. The UK is very hot on checking In and out of the country but once you are in Europe they seem quite slack as to sometimes be non existent.

I'm assuming you are in the UK but I could be wrong. Paperwork is always checked if you arrive by plane.

My friend used to bring her dog from Canada with no problems.

  5. Leave the pup at home, it's not worth the paperwork and, if you want to go over to England... you will have to put him in Quarantine anyway... do the dog a favor and leave him at home.

  6. I've just returned from a 6 week trip to France. We took our nine month old (25 lbs.) springer spaniel pup with us. Her travelling papers were in order (our vet did them for us 3 weeks before the trip). Our trip was by car, and we made more "pitstops" than usual so as to walk her as often as possible. She withstood the trip quite well.

It all depends where you are travelling from, and how long the trip in itself will take. Your vet can advise you on certain neccessary details.

Also you should find out if your pet will be accepted where you are going to stay (not all hotels accept pets.) We stayed with family, and had no problems.
