Well just to let you know this is my daughters account.

Anyway I have a really large family.

I have a 2 week old baby, 1 girl and 1 boy (twins) at 1 yr old,

4 year old girl, a 6 yr old girl and a 12 year old girl.

I really want to take them out for dinner because a haven't done it for over 2 years.

I am worried I will disturb everyone in the resturant because there might be some crying or something terrible!

Is there anything I can do at the resturant or tell my family (with out being rude) that I want them to be quiet and behave?

Please Help! 10 points for best answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. take along some puzzles and toys for the toddlers, your new born might have a few moments, but you can hardly control that and any one with kids will understand that!!

My hub and I take ours out to the local sizzler but we actually go for a 'late lunch early dinner' around 3-4pm, so it is not too busy.

    Good luck!!

  2. i would get some help for when u go to the resturant maybe ur husband best friend or close friend or maybe even a hired nanny or babysitter.

    but go out for dinner

    good luck

PS. maybe dont take the whole family like leave the twins, and the four year old at home and take the 12 year old the 6 year old and the baby. then take the twins and the 4 year old out another time and remember u are the parent, u are the boss, and its ur way or no way

  3. First u can call the restaurant and ask if it kid friendly, second practice at home (play restaurant with real or fake food) third have ur 12 years old in charge of the 4 and 6 year old (sitting between them)helping, u and or hubby take care of baby and twins( so cute twins ur lucky)  Perhaps, someone can babysit the baby OR u can just order pizza and watch a movie. good luck!  I heart 10 points!

  4. Well, I'm not sure what country you live in, but I posted a question not long ago that caused some controversy about many pubs in Australia having playgrounds and kids rooms.  If you're in Australia it's the best way to go, they're normally attached to the beer garden and you can see what the kids are doing.  When the food comes they eat and then go back to the playground or games room.  RSLs are a pretty good option too.

Alternatively, check and see if you have any restaurants near you that lay paper over the table cloth and take some pens - kids just LOVE the fact that they can scribble on the table. I worked in a Greek restaurant like that and giving rampant kids pens always worked - it was amazing.

If you've already got a restaurant in mind you could ring them and let them know to sit you in an out of the way table - and you could maybe even pre-order the food so there's not so much waiting time for the kids to get bored.

DO NOT sit down and order them pink lemonades or traffic lights!!!!  In an hours time you'll be regretting it!!

You could also try picking a restaurant that has loud music or a band playing - the kids will love the music and their noise will be drowned out.

Good luck!  You've got a big night out on your hands!!  Don't worry too much about the other people in the restaurant - people are usually tolerant and the waitpeople have seen it all before.  It's your night out - just enjoy it.  I don't think anyone will look at your brood and blame you if things get a little noisy.

  5. Well...if they can truly understand properly, you have got to annoy them! Just do your best to embarras them, sorry but thats all ive got
