  1. i think theres like a limit of how much u can bring and u can't bring it carry on probably

  2. Def not carry on due to pressure.

There will be a limit to make sure people are bringing it for personal consumption and not selling it. Then it would be subject to import tax.

I'd hazard a guess that it's around the same as your duty free buying limit which is 2L of spirits and..........? Not sure.

Can I ask why you're bringing beer? It will be in the hold which means it will be subject to temperature fluctuations and might spoil.

You'll be able to buy pretty much every US beer here.

Unlss it's your own brew in which case you would probably get a lot of grief from customs.

Anyway I've tried most American beers and they are weak!! Get an Aussie beer, add water and you'll get the same result.

    ha ha ha ha Joking!

But we do have brilliant beer here. I'm not talking Tooheys and Fosters. I mean Hahn premium, Malt Shovel Brewery, Cascade etc.

Then there are loads of boutique beers.

You'll walk into a Dan Murphy's (big alcohol warehouse) and be blown away by the range of local and imported beers.

You'll also get the chance to go through a Drive Through Bottlo (bottle shop). You drive up under a cover and someone comes to your window to ask what you want, scurries out the back and grabs it for you. Otherwise you can browse as well if you park off to the side (engine off).

Careful though, because we do have strict drink driving rules and limits and there are coppers EVERYWHERE doing what we call RBT's (random breath tests).

    Have fun!

EDIT: just had a quick look on the customs site and bringing alcohol from overseas, duty free or otherwise, is still subject to the limit. So in total you can bring 2.25Litres of alcohol in a combination of duty free or otherwise. So if you bring 1L of beer, you can only buy 1.25L of alcohol at the duty free shop on your way in.

And remember to mark on your customs form you have food. It's always best to mark it, they'll ask you and 9 times out of 10 wave you through. But if you haven't ticked the box and they find a banana or half an apple or bottle of drink you forgot about inyour carry on luggage, they'll have to go through loads of paperwork and you'll likely be fined a couple of hundred dollars. They are very strict on that.

Best to mark it if you're not sure. Usually the - Something to declare - aisle is shorter than the - Nothing to declare one!

Doesn't hold you up in the least.

  3. Almost certainly would have to go in checked baggage. The biggest risk then is getting it through without bursting/breaking.
