I want to take some of my blackberry bush with me how do I do this?

I have lots of blackberry bushes growing out side my house but I am moving in about 5 weeks and would like to take some of them with me but I dont know how can someone help?

  1. Pick out the healthiest plants, not too old. Get as much of the root as you can and more than you would think you would need. Keep the roots moist during tranporting.

    If you are moving to a different climate zone i don't think i would bother, just buy new plants. But if you are just moving across town, they should be ok and not suffer too much shock.

    When you replant, be sure to water as if it is a new plant. There is no guarantee that they will live regardless of how you do it, but good luck.  

    If possible have the new site ready before you dig up the bushes.
