I want to take up archery....

But i don't want to use those huge compound bows. I want a classic, wooden ( or whatever material) re curve bow. Any suggested brands?? If so what is the price?

Anywhere from $100 to $1000.  You can get the Bullseye by Internature, a take down recurve bow with some metal bushings, for $100.  It's a great beginner bow as the limbs are interchangeable.  They don't look so beautiful, but they work as a learning tool.  You can get them with light limbs and climb up the poundage to your target weight without breaking the bank.

    Then there are the one piece wooden bows that goes from $200 to $1000, these bows are generally not for beginners, not only due to the price, but also the poundage they come in are higher than what beginners need to use.

    My suggestion is to find a range near you.  Who knows, you might find a range that offer free equipment, like ours in Los Angeles.  If you're in the US, head on over to www.usarchery.org and do a search under Directory Search.
