I want to teach CAUSE and EFFECT with pictures with 3rd graders?

i am working with esl students and would love about 10-20 pictures that show cause and effect but i cant find them anywhere, can someone help me find some?

  1. maybe have half the kids draw half , the and vice versa. make a game out of it? or partners?

You can find sets of sequence cards at a teacher resource store.  There may be 3 or 4 cards in a set, showing a series of events  (similar to cartoons).  Students have to put them in order.  The reason I think you could use these for cause and effect is that for them to have a logical sequence, something has to happen.  Right?  And for something to happen, there is a cause and an effect.

    Actually these are made for younger children.  But you could scan them and put them into a Power Point presentation, or you could copy them on your copy machine and make transparencies with them.  That way the whole class could see them at once.

    Show just enough of the cards to get the kids to the point where they have to guess what comes next.  Make it a game.  

    After you play the game, have them work individually or in pairs to draw a set of 3-4 cause/effect cards.  You might have them brainstorm first what some of them might be.
