I want to teach kindergarden students?

i am from india and i have a bachelors degree in commerce and i am interested in teaching kindergarden students i am presently in nevada so how can i be a kindergarden teacher and do i have to get a state certification to teach where can i obtain this from

check w/your state, but a lot of states have "lateral-entry" where you have to be working towards your certification while you are teaching.  I think they give you 2 or 3 years to complete it.

It really depends from state-to-state.  You can get emergency certifications if you are working toward your teaching degree, but that doesn't happen a lot anymore, and when it does, it's usually for math, science, or special education.  I know Nevada, particularly Carson County, has a great need of teachers (they recruit all the way here in NJ!) so it may be easier for you to get emergency certification.

On the flip side, with NCLB, all teachers must be highly qualified, meaning they have to comply with minimum standards--degreed and certified in your course content.  No state currently meets NCLB criteria, and the first deadlines have passed.  The second set of deadlines are fast approaching.  Districts may be leery of hiring teachers with emergency certs, since they don't meet NCLB standards.

For you to get a teaching certificate, you have to have a four-year degree in teaching and you must takes tests such as the Praxis series.  You have to complete practicum and student teaching.  You must teach successfully for at least one year before you get your permanent certificate.  Any certificate you receive before that will be conditional.  To keep your certificate once you get it, you must get training or take classes every year and document it.

I would recommend you get your substitute certificate while you pursue your teaching degree.  You need 60 college credits to sub.
