  1. $250 if you get a decent one. Be careful, they're heavier than they look.

My boyfriend taught himself to play really quick. But he had experience with other instruments.

It will probably take awhile to get good.

I can Play Guitar is good I've heard.

  2. An average guitar can run between $300-$500. If you like Rock or metal Jackson, ESP, Gibson, Fender, and Epiphone.

Its not difficult at all to teach yourself but you do need to have patients and know that you aren't going to be shredding anytime soon.

To become a relatively good guitar player will take you about 2 years.

I would recommend maybe a scale book. Something that will get your fingers moving so you can learn all the scales, modes, arpeggios, and all that good stuff. Also I would get a guitar tablature book of your favorite band. So you can go back and forth to see how you are improving. I have been playing for 11 years now and what awesome is that there is so much you can learn. Good luck playing. Ever need any advice let me know.

  3. Get it out of your head that you are going to teach yourself.

You are going to get help from someone.

Method books, Online materail etc. can help but get some personel contact with someone who already plays.

When you have some experience under your belt make sure you share it with others.

  4. Hey man i started playing since i was 12-14 yrs old. everything is self taught never went to school for it. I go to youtube and watch tutorials and just do what they do and eventually i learn the song.
