But then its good to know your basic open string cords. A E C D G F if you have them you can pick and put your fingers in diffrent ways to make beginner songs,riffs stuff.

After that get a few finger exersices and DO them each day(Or wenever dont make it a chore) to make your fingers used to more solo like playing.

After that you can start reading tabs of songs you like. And get Guitar Pro! I will help you play and understand the songs better.

Also dont start if you dont have a love for music or instruments because you will need some motivation top help you in the boring times when you have to force yourself to do exersises/scales. O yea try to learn the pentatonic and natural minor and blues scales sometime.

iif you want to know all the chords and stuff right away, there are books filled with them. There are also books that teach you going from one note at a time on one string to more difficult things, such as chords.

Or you could just look up tabs online for certain songs you want to know how to play. There are plenty of those.
