I want to throw a housewarming party for my mom, but...?

it's for a house that she had remodeled, not a new location. Everything was old and unusable so we threw it out. Now she is ready to move back into her completely remodeled home but has nothing to take in with her. Is it a good idea to throw her a housewarming party?
