I want to throw my boyfriend a suprise 30th b-day party and not spend a lot of money. Any ideas?

Since I am the only one throwing him one I know it can get costly! I just want to have him something he will definately remember and I REALLY want to suprise him! I'm not sure where to have it or even how to make it a suprise. I would love some ideas:)

My sister hosted a surprise "over the hill" party for my 30th.  She used dead flowers for decorations and made a simple cake in the shape of a tombstone with RIP written on it.  Dinner was lasgna, garlic bread and salad which was brought by other guests and family members.

ok ask all your guest to bring on thing food games drinks then have your bf favorite food to even with the other food coming the rent a movie +make your own icecream sunday.

Invite people he likes, ask them to bring a dish to pass, and have them make a list of 10 things of why they like them and get some Mad lib books, and have each of them do one with his name in the libs.  Each person read it during the eating time and just make it as simple as possible the simplier it is the better I think!  Have him meet you somewhere and have someone you trust decorate the house with an era he enjoys like 50's -60's or make it an 80's party and wear neon.  Go back to his time frame when he was growing up.  I think it would be memorable and fun at the same time.

See if your favorite restaurant has a room you can reserve.  Have the guests arrive before hand.  You tell him that you are taking him out for dinner.  Have the hostess escort you to the room filled with people yelling surprise.  You will have to stop at the restaurant ahead of time so the hostess recognizes you.  You will also have to appoint a friend to be in charge of the group while you are picking up your boyfriend.

why not have it as a bbq on a beach or in a wood or banks of a river getting people he likes to be with and would like to share the evening .............................the fact that you are all together and he didn't know about it will make it special without spendina a fortune on a venue
