I want to track quotes for VIX futures contracts, how do I do this?

Can I do it on one of my watch lists within Yahoo Finance? If so, what is the ticker symbol for the futures contract (as an example VX September contract) Thanks!

If you want the index itself and not the futures contract, you can type first a symbol--it may be the same symbol you use for the S&P, followed by VIX.

For instance, this works with some programs:

$vix.

As far as I know Yahoo finance does not supply futures quotes, so I do not believe you can include them in Yahoo watch lists. The Yahoo finance symbol for the index, as opposed to a futures contract, is "^VIX".
