I want to transform my master bedroom into a lovers nest?

Okay, I know it sounds corny, but it's true. I want our master bedroom to be romantic, relaxing, safe and inviting. I would like to come up with a color scheme that would make this work. My hubby is a very manly man and wouldn't go for pinks or purples (maybe in moderation) so think of it as a unisex room. Thanks so much.

  1. make ur walls a white and black or dark red wallpaper or paint and black dressers and a red canopy bed with white christmas lights strung across the top and a bed spread of of a dark crimson with many accent pillows of black and white.

then get fake white carnations in a clear vase and many candles. and dimmer lights.

    hope that helps!

  2. Try using reds or chocolates.  Both of these colors are invigorating and sensual.  Accent with candles and mood lighting for a nice soft glow.

  3. Dark indigo blue, a rich cream, and caramel.

Paint the walls indigo blue, with a cream ceiling, with a medium fruitwood furniture and romantic cream colored netting around the bed.  Accent everything with antiqued gold and caramel.

Wallcoverings: Cream sheers, with dark indigo velvet draperies.

Rich and romantic, like a sultan's private getaway.

  4. cool

  5. purples and blues would work then.  i would use sheer materials and hang the windows and make an unusual canopy for the bed with the same sheers.  a couple of heavy leather armchairs and a lovely inlaid table would be nice too.  a fluffy white comforter,  dark purple and blue pillows.  maybe a round table with a funky, gypsy-hippie type cover, with bangles and mirrors all over.  oh yeah..

  6. I also have a very romantic room, here it is...first thing...remove any pictures of the family (kids, parents, etc.) DO have pics of you 2 as a couple. Have at least one s**y painting on the wall, maybe an abstract couple, or a suggestive (of body parts) flower, a mermaid, nude sketches, birds, or very "mature" hearts.  DO use dark colors on the wall ours is a dark, musky greyish, greenish-blue.  Dark and big wood furniture, candles, MIRRORS!!! Minimize any trinkets on the dressers, if you do have anything on tables go for birds(or other graceful animal) in twos...keeping a "couples" theme. Possibly a framed love poem.  Display one or two of your most recent anniversary or I love you cards.  Your wedding champagne glasses would make great votive holders.  Most importantly is bedding...do not skimp here!  buy the most comfortable pillows, high thread count cotton or sateen sheets, a soft (down is best) comforter with a very dark duvet (mine is black with dark tropical leaves) animal print could be nice too but nothing over the top, white sheets are always good because they really feel clean and can be bleached when soiled : ) and the white isnt seen when the bed is made so its cool.  Red can be used to ignite passion but only as an accent color as it can create anger in large doses.  Dont keep statues, books, TVs, etc in your room as they cause distraction from sleep and from romance, if you have any electronics it should be a small cd player for you love music!  As tempting as it may be dont get throw pillows, you want your bed to always look like it is ready for you! Keep your room free of clutter always.  Have dark or black-out window covering...so that anytime of the day can be candle lit or dark.  If you have room a loveseat with a simple pattern or even better, a portable massage table (oh so fun!) would be a nice addition.  And now they sell furniture for ease of positioning while being intimate...Im not sure of that website but I know you can access it at Playboy.com through their store (super fun stuff)   Anyway, I know I gave you a load of info but I know how important a romantic bedroom is!!! I used these suggestions myself and have a wildly romantic bedroom that my ( also very manly) husband just loves, nothing too femine--and our love life DID increase ten-fold after redecorating!!  Good luck and have fun!!!  Oh yeah, and make sure your overhead light has a dimmer switch or otherwise turn-it-down-but not off option!

  7. Ok, im in college so this may seem a bit immature to you (depending on your age) but i think you should go for a secret love nest.. it would be unique and super cool.

    Alright, heres how

First just put together a basic room, regular carpet, a few dressers maybe a shelf or 2 and a 4 poaster bed.

Now paint the walls dark red or maroon, after the paint dries paint lots of cool designs over it, maybe some kinky s*x stuff but do it in blacklight paint (invisible in normal light)

Now go to the hardwear store or Spencers gifts (or online) and get a few light fixtures (florescent tubes) and some blacklight bulbs.

Mount these fixtures on top of the 4 poaster on all sides and run the witre, then cover them with a tastefull coverup (something that goes with the room)

Get a memory foam bed And put a very white silk sheet (just the bottom one) on it, then put your normal sheets on top of that one.

If you do this well (get a little creative) your room will be a nice homely bedroom during the day, but when its time to make love the lights go out, the blacklight covers come off, the sheets are ripped off leaving the silk ones, the walls glow (so does the bed) and its SEXT TIME!

This also makes white bras/thongs look super cool!
