I want to transport my 4 month old dog from mangalore to patna via rail.can anyone tell me how its to be done?

I got a 4 month old, very loving Boxer breed dog, and i need to take him along with me to patna... i wanted to know if its possible to send the dog thru the Indian railways. if yes, then how is the booking done and what are the charges????

Is he a fast runner? You could hold onto to leash while he runs beside the train.  I would call the station. I know you can check baggage through to your destination, but you should call to find out what the restrictions and fees are for pets.
