To appreciate what you see you need context , i can't imagine walking around a summer festival in japan with people wearing yakuta's and not knowing what it's all about.. You at least need to know why and want to see goldfish scooping . You need to want to eat octopus balls because you never tasted them instead of searching for a macdonalds.

Read up on any place you go .. do your homework for a YEAR , then go for a month or more .. then do the same the year after..

I've not been to China. Japan is good but expensive - it has deals for travellers on railways, Kyoto for old stuff Tokyo for new stuff. USA I've only been to once - I wasn't overly impressed. Its better seen via TV.

All countries have places of tourist spots that are beautiful, but if you want to experience the way they really live do the small villages. Pick the countries that you have always thought of seeing.

then start ur journey in april or may b'coz it is winter in china,japan n usa.you can see white snow all over.you will face problems if u r from tropical country.i can tell u da whole tourist places in china as iam staying in china now.beijing (in august, olympics r going start in this city only),shanghai,dalian,hainan(hawaii islands of china),guangzhou,tianjin,xian(old capital of china).

It depends how much money you have - not much then go to Asia because you can live really cheaply there.  If you have a decent amount then Japan is awesome but I wouldn't suggest America - it gets a bit dull after a while and it's full of Americans!!
