Personal Campaign Travel - Exemption to Contribution Limit
When traveling on behalf of a candidate, an individual may incur up to $1,000 in transportation expenses per election, without such expenses constituting an contribution to the campaign.
“Traveling on behalf of a candidate†includes trips taken at the request of or in coordination with the campaign, including appearing as a surrogate for the campaign, working at a campaign office or participating in campaign activities.
The Personal Travel Exemption is only for transportation and does not apply to subsistence expenses. Individuals may pay for their own food and lodging while traveling on behalf of a candidate, and these payments do not count as a contribution to the campaign.

This is all I could find on it, I just want to know what I have to do to get it, is it something I can get going? To use on the trip? Or something I have to tax write off?
