This time of the year it is expensive it's high season,but if you do your homework you can find something reasonable.

I don't recommend Athens for the middle of the summer,but i really like to be close so I can spend a day to see the sites.

Loutraki is a wonderful resort city  and it is 45 min.from Athens .

The bus and train connections are very good and this way you can enjoy many things at the same time.Also because it's mainland is a little more reasonable.

I don't recommend Athens because it's too hot for me and i enjoy the heat by the sea.

Greece is going to be expensive this time of year, especially if you're from the States. If you stay in Athens, I'd recommend the Students and Traveler's hostel, which is cheap, nice, and a great place to meet people if you're traveling on your own. (http://www.studenttravellersinn.com/).

SIVOTA!!! its 30 minutes away from the port of igoumanitsa!!! its beautiful!! there are rooms that cost about 45 euros!! it's a picturesque village!! its pretty and has quite a nightlife!! but if sivotas nightlife is not enough, rent a motorbike and go about 15 min by the coast and go to parga... you'll have one h**l of a time!!! Hey i'm greek, and i was just there this weekend!!!woot woot! hope i helped!!^_^
