  1. Enjoy the trip. Keep in mind, Emily is right! All children in VN were raised elsewhere before being brought back to VN when they were at least 2 years of age! Those diseases are terrible!

Enjoy your visit, and use common sense.

  2. Where r u traveling from? It seems not easy for both of you to travel around Saigon as the traffic there is chaotic (sorry to say that), it's dangerous for you carrying your baby and walk around, especially crossing the busy roads without proper traffic rules for pedestrians.

Nonetheless, I have my online travel journals and some tips I learnt when I went Saigon last month here-> http://travelerfolio.com/places/vietnam/

  3. you should wait until he's older. its a nice place, but there are still diseases.

  4. As long as you stay in the big city you will be fine, don't worry about it. The airlines in Asia are 10x better than the sorry American airlines, they will help you out trust me.

It will probably play to your favor because the hawkers are extremely pushy in Vietnam, they might not bother as much or overcharge you as much when you buy something.

You didn't say what part of the country you were going to, the climate difference is amazing from Hanoi to Saigon. If you are going to Saigon I would say to keep your baby covered because it is extremely hot, hotter than Bangkok I thought. In Hanoi you will need warm clothes for your baby at times, I was there in December and I couldn't believe how cold it was!!!

  5. You wont have any problems on the airlines, especially if you fly an Asian one.  They will help you with your baby and its food.

As far as weather it is hot here in the summer months.  Here in Hue yesterday we were over 40 and humid.

As for me I'd wait until the child is around 2 years old.  We didn't bring our daughter back to Hue until then and she still was sick a few days.  Now at 10 she does great.

Good luck on what you decide.  Cheer C

  6. I went to Vietnam w/ my son and he was a year and a half.  Dependent on the location and time, the mosquitoes can be really bad.   If it was my son being 3 months, I would not go.  Why would you want to take a risk?

  7. You could arrange to have a bassinet for the baby.  Making formula on the plane is super easy, just ask the stewardess for some hot water.  However 3 months is a little young to be going to VN though.  Weather is hot, water is not clean,  tropical disease are quite rampant, it's not a healthy environment for baby with undeveloped immune system.
