I am an Afghanistan war veteran and I would like to go back to my old area of operation in NE Afghanistan when I get out of the army. Well sometime down the road. You see, I made some good friends while there and I miss them. I know it would be extremely dangerous but I'd like to go back to the their mountain outposts and visit them... Would anyone know how I could do this?

I am figuring get a passport and an AK and drive like a bat out of h**l through there from Kabul. But what else would I have to do?

  1. 1. Well first get a passport $181 US

    2. and apply for a visa from Afghanistan at the nearest consulate (there is one in Washington D.C.).

    3. Then buy a plane ticket to Kabul

You may have to fly to another country as the U.S. does not have flights maybe India or a middle eastern country like Dubai or UAE.

The state department does not forbid you from travel but it strongly warns you against it.
