At school all of my friends are into sports, but I'm kinda afraid of the ball! But I have gotten better, and I don't get scared as much! But this girl that I don't get along with is probably going to be at the try-out too! But I'll still have my friends, but I don't know if I'm good enough! Do you think I should just show up to try-outs with my best friends, or just not go to the try-outs, but I really wanna be part of the team with my friends, but what if I'm really bad, and that girl makes fun of me! Please HELP!!!!!

  1. Here's the thing: JOIN THE VOLLEYBALL TEAM.

You'll totally learn something new! And it'll be extra fun with your friends! And, when you try out for teams, they not only look for skills but they REALLY care about your sportmanship. You can't be bad unless you don't try! And that girl that makes fun of you? Show her what you got!

  2. I know how you feel.  Freshman year I tried out for the team (without my friends) and made it!  Unfortunately there was a totally b*tchy girl on the team with me who would make comments about my skills, etc.  I felt less confident about my abilities, and I felt like all of the girls hated me just because she did.

Well, guess what?  Soph year I tried out and made varsity!  The mean girl tried out and got cut from the team...I went on to become good friends with all of the other girls I had previously thought hated me, and realized that I had psyched myself out just because I let one person get to me...

Dont let your fear of the ball or of this girl you dislike keep you from the team!  Just go out there and do your best...if you make it, then you'll have a whole new set of friends (your teammates)...if you dont, then you learn a lesson in how to deal with rejection, and you get stronger in the process...

  3. Don't be afraid of that girl.  If she is mean to you, don't be mean back.  It makes you look like the better person and it will let everyone know what a jerk she is.  As for not being good enough, show up and try your absolute hardest. The coach will notice it, and will appreciate it.
