  1. When my sister tried out for her team

she had to be able to do a toe touch.

and if you could do a back handspring your more likely to make the team.

but make sure that you always have pep and spunk cause thats what counts

  2. Try stretching daily to become more flexible.

They might ask you to do stunts such as a toe touch, hurky, or perform a  simple cheer for them.

  3. You should be able to show up in work out clothes and learn all the cheers there. Usually you have about a week to learn three to four cheers and then a competition to see who gets chosen.

Call the middle school and ask for the details.

    Good luck!!

  4. i once joined a cheerleader squad this year.. and i think, I'm good at it.. but having an opportunity to join the dance group, i chose the dance group. it because, the reason i joined the cheering is i love dancing, but cheering is not all about dancing.. yea.. i hope you get my point?. if you're joining cheer dance because of dancing, i think it's perfect for you not to join.. find the thing you want the most.. and give your best!!

  5. Don't talk about your friends behind their back! That'ss the worst thing you could possibly do. Have fun. Be strong.Maybe start out with a simple front/back walkover. That way you know your flexible. Get your splits, and make sure that your arms are VERY strong. That was the biggest thing in cheer leading for me. After the walkover, lear a front flip, but be careful! I'm sure you'll be great.

  6. at our tryouts there are 3 practices (monday, tuesday, wednesday) where you learn a dance, a group cheer, two chants (really quick cheers), and they show you the basic jumps. on thursday they give u the day to practice and call up a friend if u don't get something then on friday u check in at the tryouts and u receive a number

everyones number goes in a bag and they pick 3 at a time

u go in and the first thing u do is your jumps each girl goes and then you do the dance and the group cheer together and u can ask to do it again. then the 2 chants u learned they randomly pick one out for each girl so all 3 of u might do the same chant or 2 do the same and 1 does the other one so you'll have to know both. thats how it goes at my tryouts sorry if its a little confusing but just remember keep smiling thats very important even if u mess up keep going on with a smile.

my first year i messed up the dance quite a few times but kept smiling and went on and when i got my scores back i got a 9 out of 10 for the dance.

    good luck
