I want to try out for field hockey at my high school. I was wondering if any one had some type of tips ?

i want to try out so does any one have some backgroung on it or does any one know how i can pre paire for it or any rules in need to know? as you can tell i am very new to it

Ive been playing field hockey for three years and i love it.

it wasn't too difficult to learn at first but once you start playing its just awesomee. :]

what you should do is buy a stick and a ball first.

i recommend a compostite stick. [STX is a good brand]

go to modells or a different sports store.

do you have a friend who plays field hockey?

if you do you should ask her to help you.

My best friend has grown up playing field hockey and has also taught me how to play. It's quite a complicated sport with some funny rules. But once you get it...it's a ton of fun! There are some funky hand positions, so you should make sure that your wrists are strong and are able to stay in awkward positions for a while. That's really the only tip I have other then go for it and have fun while doing it!
