I want to tryout for my high school's volleyball team....tricks, exercises,overhand serve!!!!

I want to try out for my high school's volleyball team. There are about 15 days till tryouts sooo answer this question as fast as you can!!!! I know how to play and all .... but could you give me any excersises that will make me stronger and tricks that will make me better. The hardest thing for me is the overhand serve...I suck at it!! HELLPPPP !!!

    do bunch of lunges.

  3. I play volleyball too!  i can help with your overhand serve!

    to get a killer serve that goes an inch over the net that is hard to hit from the other team!

    first stick your arm straight up in the air then move your hand forward about 20 degrees... that is where you want to hit the ball! you have to throw the ball up so that the ball hits where your hand is!  also another tip is to throw the ball up a little in front of you instead of directley up or behind you!

    "if you have access to a agility ladder

    use it

    do tuck jumps (jump and bring your knees up to your chest in the air)

    lift weights

    work your core alot because alot of energy comes from this area when you are hitting

    squats to build butt muscles

    box jumps(if you can) get a sturdy wooden box thats about 1 foot and a half high and just keep jumping on and off of it

    dont eat heavy foods right before you practice eat fruit or pasta salad or yogurt or trail mix

    stretch alot before you start a game

    when it comes to overhand serving dont worry about it

    be calm when your going up to serve

    make sure your toss is a good one and high enough so you have time to hit it

    practice serving on the side of the house if your parents will let you

    it really helps

    be calm and maybe ask a friend on the team or a coach to help you with your serve

    im sure they would be happy to


  5. hi! i would advise you to run occasionally, it builds endurance..don't focus so much on speed, it's better to stay at a good pace & run longer. overhand serves..umm i was taught to think of it as an arrow..so it's really hard for me to explin in words but i just started a new vlog & if you want to stop by there & ask me i could do a overhand tutorial for you..just go to www.youtube.com/lavamonster4  feel free to ask anything..im reall down to helping & hope one day to become a volleyball coach..so good luck & i hope you check out my vlog & ask anything =]
