Question:

I want to update my iron stair railing?

I have old iron stair railings, and I would like to update them (with minimal cost and w/out having to replace them). I have already puchased stain for the wood part and paint for the iron rails. I'm trying to find something I can use to either snap or epoxy on them to give them an updated look. The link below is the look I want. Does anyone have any ideas?

  1. My best guess--and it's just a guess--is that the trims in your link would have to be welded to the iron rails before painting the whole. I doubt there's a glue that will bond metals firmly enough.

I could be wrong, of course. (Wouldn't be the first time, either.) I'll watch this question, since my cheap-and-cheesy wrought iron stair rail could use an upgrade or update, too.
