im 15, going to get my license in a few months and was wondering if biodiesel was a good alternative to diesel. I assume the car has to be a diesel car? And where would I get this bio diesel? Do i need to buy anything special or can i just pump it into my car? i heard you could get it from restaurants... is this true and is it free? Thanks alot.

  1. Diesal cars newer than 1997 don't need much to covert to biodiesal.  There are many kit s avaialable to do the conversion.

You either get biodiesal by making it yourself or buying from avendor.  Lookunder fuels in the Yellow Pages and find a distributor.  If they don't sell it, they know someone who does.

You can't just pump it into your car unless it's been filtered/ made ready for fuel use.

You can get oil from restaurants yourself but need to filter it before using it.  Also you need to take into account the time involved in collecting the fuel.

  2. U need to run it through a very fine filter. If u don't the pieces will stop up your injectors.

  3. I think you've got a great idea.  I think my next car should be biodiesel too.  Check out the site I've referenced.  I think it will answer all your questions.  Very interesting info!  There's nothing ever really free, but this could be pretty close.
