  1. Absolutely, I use it all the time in my massage practice and have never had a problem.  It is best if you can find organic.  There is no difference between the kind you find at the grocery store and the kind they package for massage, except that the kind packaged for massage may have preservatives in it.  The grocery store brand might go rancid a little sooner, so don't buy too much at once.  Once you detect an odor you shouldn't use it, just toss it out.  Normally it doesn't have any scent.

  2. In deference to the "Top Contributor" of this category, I have used grapeseed oil (which I have bought at my local supermarket), as the carrier oil, in which I mix various essential oils, for 99% of my massage clients.  In case you were wondering, for the other 1%, I use fractionated coconut oil for the folks who either don't want a fragrance or who are very sensitive to oils and/or fragrances.

I have never gotten any complaints from any of my clientele about the use of grapeseed oil.

The main reason I use grapeseed oil, is that it has a naturally occuring large amount of Vitiman E in it, which as you may or may not be aware of, is beneficial for your skin.

  3. I doubt you will, just because most grocery stores don't carry good quality herbal products like those you would find in a health food store or GNC (as a couple examples). Most herbs you would buy in a grocery store are typically dried with high heat (which destroys a lot of the nutritional content) and so they are only really good for spices.

However, there are some grocery store chains that have good herbal sections (like that have whole herbs, capsules, and other general health foods), so it really depends on what's in your area.

Of course, on the flip-side, it depends on what you're using it for. If you're just using it for a massage, any heat-treatment won't make much of a difference anyway, since you're mostly going for the lubrication and scent, not just skin health. So if that's the case, that should be fine.
