In an emergency, human shampoo is fine.  But dog and human shampoos have different pHs - and long term use of human shampoo on dogs will lead to dry skin, and the problems associated with that - scratching, flakiness, infection in the worst cases, etc.

If it's all you got... fine. But as a rule, if you are going to use shampoo, go with a pet shampoo... or at least a baby shampoo. It's gentler.

Dont period! Your dog is a dog not a human so do not treat as such.

Use only water at this point if the dog has gotten into something and has a smell use PUPPY not dog PUPPY shampoo if you have to, other wise just water for now, the human shampoo will dry your puppies skin out and then if you are just asking this for giggles hope your getting a laugh

You can use human shampoo on dogs, if you don't have dog shampoo for now. But you should use dog shampoo because it is made for dogs and not humans.

If you want to use it because of the smell, go to your local pet store and buy one that says on the label it has a smell, its not good to use human shampoo on dogs, it hurts their skin.

For a one time thing, not a big issue but watch the eyes.

For regular bathing, you need a dog shampoo.  Not much more expensive than human shampoo but much better for their skin and coat.

If the dog has something stinky in its fur and really really needs to be washed ASAP it is fine but you really should use dog shampoo on your dog.  People shampoo is not meant for dogs, their skin is totally different from ours.  

If you just want to use it because it smells nice, there are lots of dog shampoos these days that also smell nice.

Don't use people shampoo on your dog unless you absolutely have to.
