  1. Try tomato red.

You could paint one wall in the tomato, and the rest in ivory or pale gold.

Then add accessories in tomato, sage, or the wall color:

    throw pillows

    lamps/shades

    ornaments

    rug

    vase/planter/flower pot

    candles/holders

  2. I would paint the walls sage, to coordinate with the couch.

I would buy some pillows with a fabric that coordinates with the sage and includes red (floral, plaid, print-whatever suits your taste) to bring it together, and then put a red rug on the floor, perhaps some red curtains.

Gold would be another color that would look nice, so perhaps a deep yellow thrown in there as well.

I hope this helps!  Have fun!

  3. I think a maroon or burgundy would look fabulous with the sage.

play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think "natural choice" (# 7011) would look terrific. If you want something more colorful, then try "vast sky" (# 6506).

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & for $5 they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like

  4. To avoid a Christmasy look go for a more Red-Orange than full blast red and a nice Tan. Go to Behr.com and search for Boston Fern-that should be your sage. Then search for Glowing Firelight and Summer field. Finish these off with a nice cream for base boards and crown molding and you will have a beautiful room.

  5. i would guess 1446 phoenix for the walls

and for the red i would guess something similar to rhubarb http://onewholeclove.typepad.com/one_who...
