  1. To learn more about Toronto, pretty much the cultural and economic capital of Canada (but of course, this is much debated!), check out the site I've found below.

  2. first of all i would like to say that stanley park in NOT on vancouver island, it is on the mainland! (Vancouver).

If you are looking to speak french i suggest stick to Quebec, maybe Totonto, Ontario, too.   I dont know of too many people that speak french in the western provinces.  sure people send their kids to french immersion schools, but really, its not used much after that!

I could go on and on....but really....the West Coast rocks!!!!

where else can you go swimming in a lake, golf and hit the slopes all in one day?!?!!?  truly amazing

  3. Heya!

Most people in Canada speak both English & French, however in places such as Quebec & Montreal they predominantly speak French (and most of the signs are in French so it can make it hard if you don't understand the language!)

Toronto is a great place to visit, it's only an hour & a bit drive to Niagra falls (which is a must see!) and 3 hours to the Upstate New York Border which if you are driving & have a couple of days is really pretty to see. Also, check out Thousand Islands - summer is an ideal time to go because the snow is cleared & you can see everything!

  4. The language depends where you go in Canada. In Quebec you'll see primarily French speaking people. The rest of Canada is mainly english, though most major cities have a french spot and an English section. In British Columbia and Alberta there are a lot of Chinese and Japanese immigrants, so you'd have a lot of that language there too.

Cool places to visit? try Niagara Falls, Vancouver Island and Vancouver (including Stanley Park), Nova Scotia has the Cabot Trail, Banff, the Rocky Mountains, The West Edmonton Mall, the Prairies, up in Churchhill you can even go on tours to see polar bears....anywhere you go, there will always be something to do.

As for nice hotels, I suggest two things. First, pick some places you'd like to visit and look on their websites to find some hotel reccomendations, or somewhere like Expedia.ca. Another option is trying something like a bed and breakfast. That would give you more of a vacation feeling then being in a hotel room, which all look the same across Canada and the USA anyway.

Places to avoid? Nah...we're a pretty friendly bunch of people here, lol! Hope you get to visit, and feel free to ask more questions. :D

  5. i know a lot about canada.Quebec is the only city which they speak french.other citites speak english.Canada is beautiful.dont know any places to avoid.

  6. Hey, I live in Canada. Canada is officially bilingual (both French and English) so wherever you go, you will be able to understand what's going on. French is mainly spoken in Quebec and New Brunswick.

All of Canada is cool, but a few great places: if you love camping, Algonquin Park is world renowned. Stanley Park is amazing in Vancouver. Prince Edward Island is gorgeous, and has red soil. Nova Scotia has the Cabot Trail - a twisty windy road right out of a Flintstones backdrop. Toronto is great, it's like New York but with less traffic and more trees. There are lots of hotels in Canada, most famous probably are in Niagara Falls - rent one with a heart shaped jacuzzi. I would avoid Peterborough, they tend not to like asians there. Any town not tolerant of asians is not ok by me!
