  1. Its good to do both if you can. If you begin in Cairo to see the pyramids, you can then fly to Luxor which does not take long. The ambience in Luxor is better I think, than Cairo, and you can really enjoy your time there. The tombs and temples are amazing, the Valley of Kings being my favourite, its awesome. There are so many wonderful sites to see from Luxor and Aswan.

So it is worth visiting both places if you can. You do not need long in Cairo - about 3 days will be enough.

It is best if you travel with a travel agent who can arrange everything for you from your home country before you leave. So you will know your itinery in advance.

I know as I have had experience of this - and it works very well.

    Enjoy your trip.

    :)

  2. omg, i love the pyramids. my parents are from alexandria when we went their we arrived a little late, and it closed(weird), but they told we could enter or something, but we can't get to close. so we got to ride on camels and horses. it's amazing. just bring a lot of water!

  3. Definitly the pyramids! The Valley of the Kings is quite amazing but you cannot grasp how great the pyramids are. They are formidable! You can always take a train (cheaper) down to Luxor and see the Valley of the Kings. Just so you know, Tutankhamen's Tomb is very over rated, literally just a small room. There are better tombs. Its best that you see the pyramids and the valley of the kings while you are there. Other great places are Abu Simbel (Temple) and Dahab (diving village on the Red Sea). Are you traveling alone? That may cause some problems if you don't speak Arabic. I recommend you do a tour. Alot safer. Just becareful in the bazaars because people will not leave you alone!

  4. It is better to do both. If it is not possible then I choose Luxor. The whole city is an open museum. The visit to the Karnak temple alone is an experience that you will not forget. The tombs in the valley of the Kings, the Queens and the nobles is very interesting. The temple of Queen Hatshepsut is fantastic. There are much more things in Luxor that are not less impressive than the pyramids. Trust me.

  5. Just allow 2 days in Cairo - 1 day for the pyramids and 1 day at the Cairo Museum which is fantastic.  Then take the overnight sleeper train to Luxor.  Try and do a hot air balloon flight over the Valley of the Kings as well as visiting the temples and tombs.  Then do a 3 day cruise down to Aswan.  You can fly to Abu Simbel from there.  You should be able to see a lot if you have 10 days or so.

  6. i pick the pyramids :)

  7. I'd vote for Luxor and all the rest over crowded Cairo - either way, opt for any night time tours, the Egyptian light shows are brilliant.

(And Abu Simbel too if you have the time. If you only have half a day left you can usually fly over & back in an afternoon.)

  8. That's actually a tough decision. I'd say you should see the pyramids, there's temples under them aren't there? The fascinating monuments look to amaze and brighten even the dullest.

  9. Better  visit World famous...pyramids first.

  10. if  i were you, and had the time and money ......i would visit both: because both are exciting and satisfying, each in its own way...

i mean you have made it all the way there, why not hit two birds with one stone? ;)

    Enjoy!
