  1. I live in Milan. There's nothing to see around the central station, a part the station itself (it has been built by Mr. Mussolini in the 30s, and it is considered marvellous, but nobody can say this...). Furthemore, the quarter around the station is not very safe...So my suggestion is to take the subway, or underground as you say, the line nbr 2, also called green line, and reach the Duomo stop (Cathedral). There is a lot to see there, nice shops, restaurants, museum, the Galleria (looking the cathedral to the left). the Scala Theatre. Obviously the most important thing is the cathedral. Do not forget to visit the old roman church just inside the cathedral. When approaching the Scala Thatre, on the right take Via Manzoni (Manzoni Av.). Just before the end of the avenue, 50 metres before the arch of the old walls, on the right you'll find Via Della Spiga and Via Montenapoleone, the two most famous fashion roads in Italy. Be sure you have a lot of money to spend on your credit card there. In the night I suggest you the BRERA quarter, nice romantic restaurants, or NAVIGLI quarter, modern pubs, music, excellent food, a bit caotic expecially on the w/e.  Bye.

  2. Milan is great! I went there last May and took a train to Venice from there. The subway is easy to use and will take you to the Cathedral where the main shopping district is also. Just be sure to wear conservative clothing if you want to go inside the church, I was not allowed to go because of my skirt. There's great shopping and eating near the cathedral as well.
