  1. PARISVISION provides daytrips to Normandy. Try the following link in English : http://www.parisvision.com/index.php?lan...

Or you can make it on your own using the train from Paris St-Lazare. Here is the French railway website in English : http://www.voyages-sncf.com/dynamic/_SvH...

  2. Canned day tours from Paris are easy enough to find but absurdly expensive. A quick scan of several of them shows prices of anywhere from $175 to $320 (more or less, I'm changing euros to dollars in my head).

Tours by bus from Paris suffer from the defect of wasting too much time driving to Normandy. There are a plenty of regularly scheduled trains from Paris to Caen in Normandy that will get you there in 1 hour 46 minutes. Traveling second class you can pay as little as $20 each way.

Once you get to Caen many companies offer excursions to the D-Day beachs for about $55 for a half-day.

However there is an excellant public bus system that will take you to most of the Normandy Landing sites, the cemeteries, memorials and museums. A one day bus pass can be purchased for 17.70 euros

Free bus timetables can be acquired from the main tourist office in Caen on the Place St Pierre and a map of the bus routes can be found here: http://www.busverts.fr/_hiver/plan.asp

So the bottom line is you can do it yourself for something less than $70.
