I want to visit my friends in france???

i would like to visit my friends in france and i was wondering if any one knows any cheap flights ? can u buy flights ahead like 8 months or is this too much time~ and also if you want to go a month and a half does any one know how much this would cost??? thanks~

Most airlines will let you buy tickets up to 10-12 months in advance.  

Check orbitz.com.  That is supposed to be the website that all of the US airlines support by giving them the lowest fare information first.  

How much the trip will cost depends on when you travel.  There's a significant cost difference among seasons.  For instance, a flight in summer (high season) might cost around $1200, while a flight in February might cost around $800.  

The cost also depends on where you're departing from.  For example, you can get a much cheaper flight from New York than you can from Atlanta.

It depends which city you are flying from and if you are looking for a direct flight or not. Prices also vary a lot throughout the year. I have found that in the past couple of years it was actually cheaper to book directly through the airline website rather than sites like expedia or Fly Europe. It used to be the opposite.

What I do is I check the airline website every day when I am looking for a ticket and I usually get the best deals booking 5 + months ahead. But if you are traveling outside a busy season, you can also get a last minute deal. It's really hard to predict.

From the US, a direct flight to Paris can be between $500 and $2000 for the cheapest fares (depending where you are leaving from and the time of the year). Where are you flying from?
