It's summer for me right now and there's nothing for me to do! I want to volunteer specifically with kids. I would like to read books for little kids at a library or help out at a summer camp. Does anyone know a good website that will help me find something? Thanks =)

  1. If you want to "do" something, you have to go out and do it. The internet may provide websites to apply, but you want the employers to see your face. They would get a chance to see you face-to-face instead of "on paper".

Go out in your community...ask your librarians, day-care providers, camp managers, club leaders, etc. I'm sure they would appreciate you taking the time to come out to where  they are.

  2. We work with many Horse Rescues and have children that need help or have special Needs.  Do a search on Horse Rescues and see which one is in your state. Then phone them or email them. Tell them I sunt you and that you would like to work with horses and children. Usally they are always needing help you get to help the kids and horses all together and sometimes the rescue may even provide lunch. Sincerely Tommy Lee

  3. Google you local children's hospital on the Internet and find their web-site. Often times there's a page to sign up for volunteering. If your 15 or older you should be accepted!

  4. There are many volunteer literacy groups.  You might try to call your local public library, local United Way, Volunteers of America, and Goodwill.  Someone there should be able to direct you to what you're interested in.

  5. Try the volunteers of america and see if that will work okay.
