Like the question says, I want to volunteer for the BCSPCA. It says on their website that you have to be 16 years old but I'm only 15. My birthday is only about 1 month away so I was wondering if they would still let me volunteer even though I'm too young by a month.

  1. You usually have to go through at least 1 training and orientation anyway, so call them and see if you can go through the training part while you wait.  I volunteered for the SPCA and loved it...Good for you for wanting to help, and good luck!!

  2. Well it dosen't hurt to try, and if not, than you can wait a month or just go through the training or orientation sessions while you wait.

You could also volunteer with another shelter meanwhile.  I thought that I could only volunteer with my local SPCA when I was 14.  But then I went on petfinder.com and found 30 more animal shelters/rescues/ranches that I could volunteer with within a 30 min drive, and I live in the country/foothills.  So if you wanted to, you could even look online, in the phone book, in the newspaper, or even call the SPCA for a list of other shelters, rescues, and animal related organizations...I am sure that you would find plenty.

    Good luck.
