I want to volunteer in a local problem only the head of volunteering is a NUN???

and im not a believer in christ, i have a different religion so will this create an awkward situation? any advice?

If you want to help, go ahead an volunteer. Most nuns I've met don't even discuss their faith unless prompted, so that may not even be an issue. If however she tries to push her faith on you, just tell her you're both there for the same purpose - to solve the problem. If she continues, then you must decide if you'll push back or try to help with the problem from another angle.
