I want to volunteer what should I say?!?

Its at the local nature center..I want to volunteer so I could interact with the animals and stuff! I wont be able to do it often but I figured I could choose hours. What should I do

I dont live by here-I vist my dad Tuesday4-8 and thursday 4-8 and then every other weekend...idk what to do!?

Present yourself as mature and capable of meeting obligations to volunteer.

Call or email the organization and note

-- what days and hours you can commit to volunteering at the center

-- how old you are

-- what your transportation will be (will your Dad bring you, will you drive yourself, or will you take public transportation?)

The organization will first take you through an onsite orientation to evaluate your skills, to make sure you can really make a commitment, and to review with you the guidelines for volunteers and what opportunities are available. You will also have to fill out an application and have it signed by a parent.

Often, the better volunteering opportunities have to be earned -- new volunteers may have to prove themselves with administrative tasks first before being promoted to working with animals or the public.
