You should use just one complete set of codec so that they won't crash your PC. Codec set that I would recommend is Klite Mega Codec.

so you can download one form here , you can also get a free divx player too  .

Maybe you should also update your video software as you may be missing other codecs . Windows media player is the most common and it's free.

download a player called VLC, it will play any type of file.

Google VLC player, don't pay for it on any cheeky sites, it's free

ok.. you might need  to go to you computers manufactures web site, go  to downloads, type  in your model.  and look for  the video card driver download  and re download  the driver., for  your  video card.   Then reboot.

If that"s  not  it  then go here  and install windows media player classic.. Its free  and it plays videos  and DVD's  other versions  do  not.

if  this doesn't work  ...you may need  to replace  your video card.

I'm guessing you tried watching it on Windows Media Player, you need to buy / download a plugin for that to watch them, or you can get a program like cyberlink power dvd or nero to watch them, find like vlc or find some freeware that will play it
