Is there a website where I can find employment for expat or a sponsor for a working visa? I am licensed in a regulated skilled trade in USA.

  1. If you are under 30 years of age, you should be able to get a one year working visa no worries.  If you are a tradesman skilled in an area which we are short of, you should be able to get a working visa from the government and then get a job no worries when you get here.  Our economy is going gang-busters, our unemployment is low and we need more tradies.

Good luck and make sure you see some of the country once you get here and don't just work all the time!

  2. Go apply for a work visa, have a look on the Australian Yahoo home page under jobs. I'm a expat American who lives here there is heaps of work here and the wages and standard of living are really good. I have duo citizenship.

  3. The only ways you can work in Australia without actually immigrating are on a working holiday visa, on a sponsored 457 (or 422 if you are a medical practitioner) skilled worker visa. There are other entry methods but they are designed for intending migrants.

For information on both, visit the following website:-

The following is a link to the Australian Government's Skills Matching Database which is designed to match skilled applicants with employers who have skilled vacancies

  4. You could always come over on a tourist visa, work until you're caught and then be deported. That way you don't need to become resident.
