I am thirteen and I really want to work for a fashion magazine or fashion company when I am older. I really enjoy fashion and I want to do more than sketch outfits and read fashion magazines. But because of my age I don't know what to do. Help!!???!?!?!

  1. In fashion, you either make it or you don't. You either become an artist or assistance or a designer or a seamstress. Everything is competition and does not come to you easily. You have to work hard.  Everyone is right abotu fashion design. Start sketching, find inspiration, and keep them with you. They will inspire you. Also, take sewing classes if you can. Some fashion schools offer scholarships to those who create pieces or looks.

Its very competitive to work for a fashion magazine. Everyone here is right. You should start taking art classes and keep a portfolio of all your art work so if you do go to a fashion school (example, Fashion Institute of Technology, FIDM, Parsons, etc.). Also take a few graphic design classes since it seems magazines are all about designing their pages for appeal.  You could also try a few writing courses if you want to write about fashion and/or try joining the yearbook or high school newspaper. The publishing environment should help you get ready for a magazine-liek environment and give you background in writing as well as access to magazine internships. In addition, it is important to take a few business courses if you can while you are in high school. Business will help you work with others and help you recognize trends and products that consumers buy. This will help you if you want to work for a magazine and in design. If you well research the market, you will know what people want.

  2. In school you should take art classes

when you are in highschool iam sure there is after school prgrams for fashion and ... you should take classes like art, fashion design etc.

  3. Are your sketches good?  Why not keep them, rework them if they need improving or if you have new ideas.  Who knows?  By the time you are older you may have a great collection and a head-start as a designer.

  4. Learn how to sew and sew one of your outfits.Somehow get in touch with a fashion designer(i suggest the phonebook) and somehow show her the outfit you made and your sketches and she might get you in the business.

  5. Go buy a sewing machine ask your parents if they can help and with the sketches that you have drawn make them come to life =D

buy some fabric and get to work!

It takes money to start money haha =)

good luck and ill see your name on clothes in the future if you keep encouraging yourself! =D
