  1. If you are in the UK you can go to the local FE college and discuss the options. The NVQ CCLD ( Childrens Care Learning and Development) is a good option as it allows you to work with children from birth onwards. There are many other qualifications you can take so discussion will help you make up your mind. Unfortunately you will never get into the super tax bracket for earnings by working with children but you will have great job satisfaction.

  2. Become a Montessori teacher.  There are many training centers  that offer on line training classes.  Certified Montessori teachers usually earn more than day care teachers or assistants.

  3. It not about the money on average you get paid $12 per hour. But it is also more then just a pastime. Depending on where you live there are different requirements. Some states will hire anyone to be an aide without even a background check. Other like Hawaii you need classes in a related field or to be a Early Childhood Education student (ECE) to be an aide.

To be an teacher you need at least two-year degree in ECE. And when you are a teacher it not just children that you have to deal with. But their families also. Relationships must be built with the family members who are in charge of the child. Weither it be a mom or a dad, a grandma, an grandpa, an uncle, an aunt...Thy will want to know how their child is doing and you are the one who will have to tell them.

  4. i am going into early childhood education myself. you can work in many different areas. you can work in daycares, or become a teacher. if you want to work with a children with special needs you can go to be a child and youth worker or developmental service worker.

you wont get alot of money in this field thats definately not what its about! so make sure its something you love.

if you havent already i suggest going to school to get a degree in early childhood education, child and youth worker, developmental service worker, or if you wanna be a teacher your ece, then go through university and then teachers college. it takes a while but im sure it will be worth it for you if your up for it!!

  5. you should become a preschool teacher, or assistant, if you're creative you can be the curriculum planning director, or if you can sing to children be the music teacher, it's up to you ! good luck !

  6. daycare, preschool, creche are always in need of assistants, check out all your locals and ask to put your name down for relief work, then look into courses for having qualifications

  7. I hope you don't plan on earning a decent wage, because you won't in the field of early childhood.

It was a nice pastime when my kids were little, but thankfully I didn't have to depend on it as a living wage.  My most recent experience teaching preschool was horrible--the kids are getting worse and worse with people not taking responsibility as parents, and the school is getting more and more restricted as to what they can do for discipline without it being politically incorrect.  Add to that the immigration problem (you will have a fair amount of children who don't speak English, and even more parents who don't), and the trend toward mainstreaming special needs children, oh, and you will be sick all the time because the kids spread germs.

One day I had pee, p**p, and multiple vomit messes all in the same day!   You will be on your feet and on your move the whole time and you won't have a set curriculum to follow the way most understand teaching as they don't read yet--it will be all stories and games and activities that you will have to come up with, each lasting no longer than about 15-20 minutes and often more than one going on simultaneously (learning centers), so guess what you will be doing for hours after the children go home?  Lesson planning, cutting out and preparing crafts, props, etc., and arranging and re-arranging your classroom (only to have them destroy it again the next day).

I STRONGLY suggest that you try it before you invest a lot of $$ into a degree in that field.  Go work at a day care or a church nursery or at least volunteer in some sort of child care setting.  Babysitting is NOT the same thing.

Good luck to you if you choose that path, but there are much easier and more lucrative ways to go!
