  1. I'm a Canadian...make her an Inuit or an Aleut and have her see her environment change from Global warming......to her it may be the end of her world ! I'm saying that because I'm currently half way through "People of the Deer" by Fraley Mowatt.....it's excellent and vastly different from what I am...a modern city dweller ! *S*

  2. Why don't you watch Air? That was one of the saddest stories I had ever come across (even though its an anime). It might give you some ideas.

  3. her boyfriends a mobster and he cheats on her, she catches him, and dumps him and then  he's after her so she has to go into witness protection but he knows people in the witness protection so wherever she goes she's in trouble

    :)

  4. Take Romeo and Juliet and modernize it, then to give it a twist have them run away, get married, have children, then get divorced because Juliet develops a drug problem due to the PST she suffered in Iraq.

    How's that for original?

  5. You could do a walk to remember kind of thing.

    I cried my eyes out!

  6. What if the girls best friend was killed and the main character is taunted by her friends killer . She starts losing eveyone thing around her . Her boyfriend . The friends she still had . So She moves to a different town to escape the whole mess she was in . And as soon as life starts to get better the tragedy returns , taking who she loves once again .

Idk it sounds more horror than sad . but in a way it would be depressing . Im not shure  .

  7. what kind of genre are you leaning towards? that'll help us help you.

Do you want her to be faced with an external struggle-chased by murderer/monster, trapped in a burning house, earthquake, food; or an internal one- battling a mental illness, guilt, or experiencing hallucinations (guess that kinda fits under mental illnesses though huh? that's a pretty wide category-mental illnesses) Or, she could have a physical illness-like the big C or AIDS or Huntingtons-well, that's kinda mental too but it has a lot of physical side effects.

    Does that help any?
